Little Scribblers on Tour was created and designed on a beautiful little island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It comes as no surprise that we took inspiration for one of our very first colourful packs from what we see right outside our window! So, close your eyes – wherever you are! – and imagine the sea breeze on your face, smell the salty sea air, and dive right into the turquoise water of ‘Beach Blocks’! Moto will introduce your little one to the idea of making recognisable shapes with the blocks, working up to clicking the cubes together to form the different numerals on the cards.
The introductory level set of activities can be a fun and easy way for children to become familiar with basic mathematics, leading to some very complex mathematical concepts in the future. The numbers covered in this activity are 0 to 20, addressing the value of zero, a key feature in mathematical grounding, easily overlooked in the early years.
The abstract concept of place value can be really tricky. We have therefore included a graphical instruction sheet with a very visual breakdown of activities, helping your little one reach their target!
Although this pack will work towards the improvement and development of numeracy in several ways (counting, recognising and writing numbers etc), it also includes recognition and differentiation of 2-D and 3-D shapes, development of cognitive ability and vocabulary, strengthening the fine motor pincer grip… and a fun game of hide and seek with our friend Lulu!
