Threadtastic

This colourful pack works towards strengthening the pincer-grip as well as familiarising little ones with the concepts of grouping, matching and early numeracy. Each card is divided into two columns, composed of different sets of pictures and numbers. Little ones first need to identify each pair by identifying the object, by counting or by recognising the numbers. These pairs should then be linked together and paired up using their finger first, the pen second and then progressing onto the shoelace provided.

PLEASE NOTE

Due to the current situation, unfortunately there are some delays in getting your orders to you. We’re doing everything we can to get things there as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!

There is nothing more fun (and enjoyably challenging!) for a preschooler than trying to squeeze what seems like a giant shoelace through the tiniest of holes! Watch them beam with pride as they identify all the colourful shapes, fruit and numbers and match them together using the pen and shoelace provided. Threading activities such as those in our level 4 ‘Threadtastic’ pack, are a fantastic way for toddlers to strengthen their pincer-grip, concentration and hand-eye coordination – but they don’t need to know that… they’re ‘just’ having lots of fun! Simple threading activities such as this are very important as they naturally strengthen the children’s small hand muscles that are vital for holding a pencil, tying shoelaces, writing and interacting with the world around them.

Early counting, grouping and matching are a crucial part of children’s informal understanding of mathematical concepts. Throughout this pack, little ones recognise numbers, identify groups, count forwards, match and understand that the last number counted is the total, all whilst building that vital finger strength and hand-eye coordination! Threadtastic cards progress from one to the next, starting with identical objects, then moving into numeracy development. Early cards have a simple layout with a clear boundary line to present obvious groups, advancing to more complex layouts without boundary lines. This allows little ones to self-define groups, which can be more of an abstract concept to understand but is very important as they start to organise and recognise patterns in the world around them.

All our packs include instructions to parents to make best use of the cards, and instructions to our little ones to really get them involved. The best part is they won’t even notice they’re working so hard building all these important skills… They’ll be too busy playing and having fun!

PLEASE NOTE

I’m sure it won’t come as a shock, but orders are taking a bit longer than normal to get out to you.

We’re doing everything we can to fulfil your orders as quickly and safely as we can, but please bear with us.

As a small family business, we are reliant on our wonderful suppliers and printers getting out to work under challenging circumstances as well as Royal Mail, who understandably aren’t able to be quite as fast as we’re all used to. We would like to thank them all for even making this possible.

We really appreciate the continued support we have been receiving and are extremely thankful for every single order.

Stay safe.
